My Winter Vacation

I'm going on a 5D/6N winter vacation this year. After a lot of searching and calling up travel agencies, got a good package deal. But unlike everybody else, I'm going on a winter vacation to places even colder than Delhi. Places u ask...places I say. I'm actually trying to push 3 different places into my 6 day itinerary. Too short a time to look around 3 places u say....too short a time I think too. But it's ok, think I can manage it. And I'm really excited about it too.

Get back to you when I get back. Till then, Ciao.

My First Christmas in the Capital

I've spent my X'Mases in a lot of places in my short lifetime... Kerala, Tamil Nadu, the US and now finally in the Capital. The best of my X'Mases were spent in Salem, Tamil Nadu with the whole family getting together to put up the X'Mas tree and the manger for the nativity scene. But I guess its spirit can be captured at its best in the US. The whole place has a festive spirit to it....all lit up and decorated with colorful decorations. The climate's perfect too....cold and cuddly. People walking around in X'Mas apparels, pointy hats, red and green costumes. People standing in corners jingling bells and people wishing each other a happy holiday, not to mention the X'Mas deals going on each and every store u can lay ur eyes on. A lot of people actually think X'Mas in the US has lost its real spirit and been commercialized way too much. But, hey each to one's own. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. But those were the good times, moments that will never come back but will be remembered most fondly.

Anyways, this is my first X'Mas in the capital city. X'Mas over here isn't much different to the ones that I've already celebrated. It has the same air to it...the same feel to it, maybe celebrated a lil' different everywhere based on the culture of the place, the tradition of the people. But down underneath it's the same.

We went to the morning service. Was too chilly for ma to go for the midnight one. Morning service is ok, atleast u get to know what is actually going on instead of listening to a midnight one half asleep.

Lunch was the same usual affair....a sumptuous one which left me with a very full tummy later.

The highlight of this X'Mas was dinner though. Went out to PiccaDelhi and had another round of heavy eating.

By the end of the day, I was all washed out to even move a limb. The day was worth it though. I luved it b'cos it was the best one I've had in a very long time.
